i want to go home

My family lives on the east coast, in a place called Prince Edward Island. I have not been home since Dec '08. I'm dying to get there.But for some reason or another things keep getting pushed.

Friday, I had two auditions. Both were for commercials. I hate commercial auditions, more than anything. Luckily, I haven't had to go on any in a while. But Friday, I had two.

The first audition was actually a call back for a US National Bud Light series of commercials. $$$

The second, a commercial demo called Young Guns, which will never actually air, but looks like it could be pretty cool.

The thing was, I had 30 minutes to get from one audition to the next, which happend to be across town. The fastest way would be for me to bike. Not a problem.

I arrive early for the Bud Light commercial.

I am auditioning with two other actors. The audition begins really bad. The first 20 seconds, its a boring mess. I occasionally get called to do comedy, because of my look. But comedy is hard, it's really hard. The audition started bad, but ended really well. I thought it'd be funny to pretend to pee on the wall. nobody laugh.

I hop on my bike, and race across town. Of course, of course it starts raining. Pouring actually. I am the only actor who always shows up at an audition looking like a dirtbag. For some reason I chose to wear this 80's paint stained t-shirt, which I'd been wearing actually all week, (I'm still wearing it) I just like that shirt.

I arrive to the audition, sign in. This audition, has a sort of horror feel, and my character gets his foot caught in a bear trap, while being chased through the woods at night. Sounds like a typical day.

This is the stuff that I'm good at... drama/horror. Perhaps it's a good thing that I look like a mess. The audition is quick, I do alright.

Friday night, my agent calls and says that Bud Light wants to confirm my availability for the shoot dates. This is a very good sign for a commercial audition. I'll be sticking around town I guess till Monday to hear back. Otherwise, I'm outta here.
