Toronto, ON. May 30th, 2010 - Sylvana D'Angelo, of Darling Magazine collaborates with actor William Ellis for an instillation portrait series, snackBAR masquerade.

We are each made up of many selves, and wear many masks. This idea is explored through a series of portraits that utilize a sense of peculiarity.

“I am deeply fascinated by the way humans interact with not only each other, but as well as with their environment. The person I am changes constantly depending on who I am with, where I am, the time of day. I am a million people inside of this one body. We wanted to explore that idea, using ones surroundings,” says William.

“I had seen Sylvana’s work and she has this incredible way of capturing behavior. She catches unexpected moments, and then transfers it to print form.”

snackBAR masquerade previewed last summer at Queen Street West’s Lens Factory, in Toronto.
